Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does Axia Bridge do?
We help UK & Irish professionals get “job‑ready” for Australia by:
-Reviewing your qualifications and experience
-Confirming the correct assessing authority
-Guiding you through the skills‑assessment process
-Creating a verified profile showcasing you to Australian employers through the Talent Mobility Hub
All at no cost to you.
Who is Axia Bridge for?
We support UK & Irish professionals in:Early Years & Education, Care, Support Work & Aged Care, Tech & Digital roles. If Australia is on your radar, we’re your people.
Is Axia Bridge really free?
Yes — completely. Every conversation, every bit of guidance, every step of support is free for UK & Irish candidates. We don’t charge you anything. Ever
What costs might I still have?
Axia Bridge is free — every call, every message, every bit of support.
The only costs you might face are the official ones charged by other organisations, not by us. These can include:
• Skills‑assessment fees charged by the assessing authority (e.g., ACECQA, ANMAC, ACWA). These are non‑refundable and paid directly to them.
• Migration agent fees, if you choose to use one. Some people do, some don’t — it’s completely optional.
• Visa application costs, which vary depending on the visa type.
• Travel costs to relocate to Australia — although some employers contribute to flights or relocation support.
The good news is that many Australian employers cover some or all of the assessment, visa, or relocation costs. We’ll always tell you what’s likely in your profession so you can plan with confidence.
And remember: you never pay Axia Bridge a penny.
Do you guarantee a job or visa?
No — and nobody can. What we do guarantee is accurate guidance, a verified profile, and visibility to Australian employers who are actively hiring.
Is my data safe?
Yes. We follow UK GDPR standards and only share your profile with employers with your permission.
Do I need to move to Australia straight away ?
No. You stay in the UK or Ireland while the employer selection and visa process takes place. You only move once everything is approved.
Can I talk to someone before I sign up?
Absolutely. All conversations with Axia Bridge are free. Ask us anything — we’re here to help, not to sell.
Skills Assessment
How do I get a skills assessment for Australia?
Start by identifying which assessing authority handles your occupation — ACS for tech, ACECQA for Early Childhood Teachers, ANMAC or ACWA for care workers. Then gather your evidence in the format that authority requires, lodge the application through their portal, and wait for the outcome. The careful work happens at the evidence stage, not at submission.
How long does an Australian skills assessment take?
It depends on the authority. ACS for ICT professionals: four to six weeks. ACECQA for Early Childhood Teachers: around 80 calendar days. ANMAC and ACWA for care workers: typically eight to sixteen weeks. The clock only starts when your application is complete, so incomplete applications take longer.
How much does a skills assessment cost?
Assessing Authorities for Australian migration normally cost AUD $500–$1,500, plus additional expenses for certified documents, English tests, and translations. For most UK & Irish applicants, the total cost usually falls between £400 and £1,500. This is paid directly to them, never to us.
Our service is free, we confirm your are dealing with the correct authority, before you spend any money.
Are UK qualifications recognised in Australia?
For most regulated professions in care work, early years teaching and tech, yes. UK Bachelor degrees, UK NVQs and Diplomas in Health and Social Care, and UK initial teacher training are widely recognised by Australian assessing authorities. The complication is rarely the underlying qualification — it is almost always the supporting paperwork.
Are Irish qualifications recognised in Australia?
Yes. Ireland is on every relevant approved list for the three authorities relevant to the sectors we serve. Irish Bachelor degrees in early childhood education are recognised by ACECQA. Irish QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support is recognised at AQF Certificate III equivalent for the care worker pathways. Irish Computer Science degrees are recognised by ACS without an experience deduction.
Do I need a skills assessment to work in Australia?
Not always. Some employer-sponsored applications do not strictly require one. But for almost every points-tested skilled migration route and for many employer-sponsored ones, the answer is yes. And even when it is not strictly required, having one helps you get hired.
What happens after my skills are assessed
Once verified, your profile goes onto the Talent Mobility Hub where Australian employers can view and select candidates for sponsorship.
What if I don't meet the requirements
No problem. We’ll tell you what’s missing and what steps you can take to become eligible — without pressure or sales tactics.
What if I get a negative outcome?
Most authorities allow an appeal or a reassessment within a fixed window (often 60 days), and you can usually submit additional evidence. If a reassessment is not going to work, there is sometimes a route through a different occupation or a different authority. It is rarely the end of the road.
The Honest Ones
How do Axia Bridge make money?
Good question — and we like to be upfront. You don’t pay us anything. When an Australian employer hires someone from our Talent Mobility Hub, they pay a placement fee, standard practice in recruitment. That's how we're funded. It means our interests are aligned with yours: we only succeed when you do. There is no fee to you at any point in the process.
Why is it free for candidtes?
Because the recruitment model works the other way around. Australian employers pay to access verified, job-ready talent from the UK and Ireland. You bring the skills. We bring the verification and the connection. The employer funds it. You don't.
Are you a migration agent?
No — and that's deliberate. Migration agents are regulated professionals who provide visa advice and lodge visa applications. That work requires specific legal qualifications and we don't do it. What we do is verify your skills, build your profile, and connect you to employers. When it's time for the visa work, we introduce you to MARA-registered migration specialists the people legally qualified to handle it properly. You get the right person for each part of the journey.
What's the difference between Axia Bridge and a migration agent?
A migration agent handles the legal and visa side of your move, they are regulated, qualified and responsible for lodging your visa application correctly. Axia Bridge handles everything that comes before that: verifying your skills against Australian standards, building your employer profile, and connecting you to the right Australian employer. Think of it as two different parts of the same journey. We get you to the point where a visa is possible. Our MARA-registered partners take it from there.
Can you guarantee I'll get a job or a visa?
No. And we'd be concerned about anyone who told you they could. What we can do is make sure you're properly prepared, correctly matched, and visible to the right employers. The rest depends on the fit between you and the opportunities in the market. We'll tell you honestly where you stand before you invest any time or money.
What happens if Axia Bridge can't connect me to an Employer?
We'll tell you. If after reviewing your background we don't think we can place you right now, we'll say so clearly —and where possible we'll tell you why and what would change that. We'd rather have that conversation early than waste your time. Some people aren't ready for the sponsored route yet but are a strong fit for the Working Holiday path. We'll point you in the right direction either way.
Is Axia Bridge regulated?
Axia Bridge is a recruitment business, not a migration agent, so we are not regulated by the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA). The visa and legal work in our process is handled exclusively by MARA-registered partners who are regulated and qualified to do it. If anyone ever asks you to pay for visa advice through Axia Bridge directly, that is not us — contact us immediately at hello@theaxiabridge.com.
Who are your MARA registered partners?
We work with a small number of MARA-registered migration specialists who we have vetted personally and trust to treat our candidates the way we would. We don't publish their details publicly we make the introduction when the time is right for your specific situation. What we can tell you is that we have worked with them over time, we know how they operate, and we wouldn't refer you to anyone we wouldn't use ourselves.
